Meeting someone and falling in love and then getting married was not a factor in the Chinese traditional wedding system. The procedure you had to follow was far more complicated than that. There was a step-by-step process that had to be adhered to which finally would lead to the Chinese wedding ceremony . Only after an introduction by a matchmaker and if the parents of both sides considered the family social status and wealth to be similar and that the match is ideal, would the marriage ceremony be arranged.
