Best of Hawaii: Our Favorite Cheap Eats

Today we’re making our way from Kauai to the Big Island and giving you a taste of our favorite Cheap (but so so amazing) Eats… Ono Char Burger, Kauai The drive up from Lihue airport to Kauai’s North Shore is without a doubt beautiful… but there aren’t very many places to eat. While Ono Char Burger is a place you may just happen to run into along the way, for many Kaua’i folk, it’s a destination. A bright red cottage, a menu and a couple of tables… oh wait, can’t forget the chickens and roosters scurrying around. The burgers are pretty awesome, char-grilled (hence, the name) and piled with cheese. Feel like a teriyaki beef burger with pineapple? No problem. On an island where you’ll pay $20 at least for a burger and fries at most hotels and sub-par restaurants (sorry, Kauai!), Ono Char Burger tastes great on a sunny afternoon and won’t break the bank. We recommend grabbing a burger, fries and a shake on your way to Hanalei. Town, Oahu Town? Cheap eats? Yes, my friends, if you’ve been reading this blog long enough, you’ll know I’m an avid fan of Town in Kaimuki, just 5 minutes from Waikiki. But what you may not know is Town’s lunches are around the $10 mark and you can choose from Kulana grass-fed beef burgers to panini (or ‘panino’ as they call it) to salads topped with panchetta and…
