A Hawaii Wedding… Just for Two

Being on the sidelines with the talented team at Pacific Aisles has been pure joy for me the last couple of years. Christina Farrow is in charge of some of Hawaii’s most beautiful weddings but when she wasn’t able to be in town for Jesse and Jessica’s sunset Lanikuhonua wedding, she passed the torch to me for the evening. The first time I met with J+J, a mere two days before the big event, they were ready for a beautiful, elegant evening… just for two. I’ve been waiting a couple of months to share their beautiful evening and the photos are in! Take a peek at all of the beautiful…

Fab Find: Heaven on Earth Spa and Salon

Last Friday I spent the entire day squirming in my chair. Up, down, grab a glass of water, stretch my arms over my head- I just could not get comfortable! My back was aching and by about 3:30 I’d had enough. Desperate for a massage, I bit the bullet and called Heaven on Earth Spa and made an appointment- just one hour to go til massage time! I was at my office in downtown and decided to call HoE because I’d been there a couple of years ago for a massage and it’s a mere 5 minute walk away. I walked in the door feeling so stoked- 4:30 on a Friday and I’m treating myself to a massage? Yippeee! Heaven …

Fab Find: Sunday Suppers

It’s already been such a busy summer. With the sun setting at a little after 7 nowadays, our sunny days in Hawaii seem more beautiful than ever. I’ve been busy… cooking. I’ve gotten into cooking a lot lately mostly because I’ve been inspired by everything from cooking shows to friends to magazines and a new favorite blog of mine, Sunday Suppers . The baby of photographer and food stylist Karen Mordechai and Lizzy Sall, the New Yorkers gather friends and fans of the blog every couple of weeks for an evening of cooking and eating in a Brooklyn loft. The gals take a great deal of care …

Fab Find: OnoPops!

It’s finally summer! And silly me, I keep forgetting to share my latest local food discovery with you: Onopops ! A couple of months back I spent a lovely afternoon in the Town parking lot celebrating the restaurant’s 5th Anniversary with a cool popsicle on my tastebuds. If you’re not local, ‘ono means delicious and if you are local, you’ll appreciate the witty flavor names. These are some delicious popsicles, all homemade by local brothers Joe and Josh using local and organic ingredients. How many times did I say local in that last sentence? Onopops are L-O-C-A-L. The brothers have come up with a bunch of creative flavors including Ume Thai Basil and my fave, Strawberry Goat Cheese. The guys were out in full force that afternoon…

A Glam Tropical Wedding, Hawaiian Style

I always love a beautiful wedding shoot by Nineteen Owls , but I absolutely love it when a bride’s style catches my eye as a look I’d totally sport myself. And so was the thought when I took a peek at Bethany and Kris’ North Shore wedding. The shimmering gown, chunky jewels and simple bouquet of lilies makes the beachy backdrop just sparkle. Here’s a few of my faves to get you inspired… I love neutrals and this sweet and simple blue and taupe invite suite is lovely and understated. A simple reception under the stars… To see more of Christen’s beautiful photography, head over to her Nineteen Owls blog ! Pacific Bride’s Guide to: A Perfect North Shore Afternoon

I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon here: Waimea Falls Park. After a leisurely drive up the windward coast, windows down, sun streaming down on my face, a quick hike up the valley and an afternoon dip in the falls was well worth the wait. This is my new favorite way to spend the afternoon on the North Shore! We packed a small cooler with drinks and snacks and spent a good hour floating under the falls. Here’s a peek at what else you’ll see at the Park… Just about 4 o’clock as the sun was getting lower and lower and the heat finally wore off, we headed out to the beach for sunset drinks. Waimea Bay …
