Pacific Bride’s Guide to: Oahu’s Waterfalls

Romantic walks on the beach? Check. A hike to a romantic waterfall? Next on your list! Escape to the beautiful mountains of Oahu to frolic under some of nature’s most amazing waterfalls. Here’s our Guide to Oahu’s favorites… I must admit, this is, most often, my view of Oahu’s waterfalls. Driving along the H3 or Pali Highway on a misty weekend morning and I’ll spot on- A little trickle or a big rush, sliding and falling down some of the Earth’s steepest cliffs. Through mounds of ferns, around a Koa tree and over the edge- The wind so powerful along these cliffs that the water blows back up. Sometimes there’s no fall at all. Wailele- the Hawaiian word for waterfall- “wai” meaning water and “lele” meaning to jump. On a dry day, my drive is just about the green mountains but when it rains, I’ll spot one, then …
